Productive Weekend

May 9th, 2016 at 03:02 pm

I had a great Mother's Day Weekend. I got so much done around the house! Even had some valuable alone time. Did some grocery shopping on Saturday. Yesterday was a NSD. I didn't even leave the house. We put together my closet organizer so I was finally able to get all of my clothes put up. My room looks so much better now. But I still have the treadmill area to clean up. I found that if I break things down into smaller tasks, and do a little at a time, I get more done. I will do a little then watch a little tv. It works for me.

Got the money my ex DH sent over the weekend for DD's rent. (he pays 1/3 and sister pays 2/3). I am looking good through the month of May. Then I have my surgery. It will all work out. I have faith.

Since you mentioned you had installed a new closet system, I wondered if you had heard of the Book 'Sparks Joy.' There is a series playing that demonstrates this different view point. http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/vod/konmari/20160507.html
I did this project a year ago and am astounded at how well it works.

Since you've ordered one of the KonMari books, I suggest you Google Marie Kondo on You Tube to better understand how people have handled their personal journey. There is a huge overlay of Japanese lifestyle and culture which, now that I'm used to it, has been very helpful. I admit at first, it felt weird. I can't stress enough how important it is to read the book cover to cover before you start. Even more important is to follow the order she sets forth. I know with two jobs your time is constricted so you'll need to break down each category into smaller segments. It's helpful to print out the list of KonMari sub categories.

I found myself re reading segments for 'support.' There is an online support group called Konmari Adventures and I'm happy to explain the things I tried that worked much better than I expected. Oh, also understand that while it feels terrific to release stuff, a great many items we use regularly and need are retained for purely practical use..
