Expecting Snow

January 17th, 2013 at 05:03 pm

I know that some of you have already had your first snow, but we are expecting ours later today. And when it snows here, it shuts everything down. People get crazy. The main concern is black ice that is expected to form on the road tonight. If it does than school will probably be out tomorrow. And I will come into work late.

I am feeling pretty good financially right now. I have $85 in my checking account to last until next Friday, not including my allowance which is in cash. I still have quite a bit of it left. This also doesn't include my gas budget that I have set aside. So all in all I am looking pretty good.

Glad you have a stash of cash! Stay safe on those roads...and off them completely if you can.

That's great. You have on your goal list $1K Emergency Fund. If you don't spend your allowance then you can add that to your $85 and keep building until you have $1K in your checking account as your emergency fund. Great way to hit that goal of yours. Keep warm!

Good on your for starting the year by hanging on to your cash allowance and I suspect $ 85. will last if you can avoid medical problems. We had our 1st major snowfall in mid October, earlier than usual and it just won't let up here in the Rockies for your northern neighbors. Be super careful as there is no control with black ice. Even our transit buses slide sideways down the hills

According to DD they have already cancelled school for tomorrow and it hasn't even started snowing yet! At least I get to sleep late!

That is how our schools are too. DS got out early on Tuesday before it even hit. We had a little sleet after him leaving school that only lasted a couple of hours and then they were out on Wednesday all day. Of course I am glad that they try to be extra cautious and it gave us a day off together to just have fun and be lazy!

    Keep up the good work.
Here, we are totally tapped out until tomorrow night... Ugh!
