October Results

November 1st, 2012 at 02:31 pm

Here are my budget results from October.

I hope this works. I have never posted anything on this blog.

I can see a few categories that need work, especially the dining. I came in under in a few categories, which helped offset the dining category. I made two mortgage payments thanks to my mom. Medical came in over budget for the month. The cell phone bill is so high because ex dh didn't pay his share for the month.

Analyzing where my money goes is very interesting. Little things add up quickly.

    How's the "fiscal fast" going?

I know we say this a lot, but your phone bill is insane. You really need to move toward changing that somehow...

I really like the format. Which software are you using?

Agree that your cell phone bill is c-r-a-z-y. I'm not familiar with your details (such as why ex-h is on your plan). May I just mention that my cell bill was $35.27 last month? That's for three lines, no smart phones.

Congrats on all the progress you are making! Smile

I use Quicken for my financial software. I really like the format too.

My ex is on my cell phone bill because I have a two year contract. He had huge overages last month and hasn't paid them yet. I told him I was going to suspend his phone until he can pay what he owes me.

Can you break that bill down maybe? We have three 4G smartphones with unlimited data and minutes and we pay less than $200 a month.

I know you're on a contract since we've discussed this before. How much longer is left on your contract? What is the fee to break it? If you went to prepaid phones you would save LITERALLY *thousands* of dollars a year. It would be worth paying a fee to get out of that contract.

You're so good about pinching your other pennies, but this is SUCH a huge amount of money I don't know why you aren't more motivated to change it.

Your ex should be off it. Your kids don't need fancy phones with unlimited features. If you're paying for them, they should be happy to have anything.

I don't see cigarettes listed, have you included them under a different name?

Cigarettes are listed under the Amy category,as well as the weight watchers.
