Doctor Visit

August 29th, 2012 at 02:41 pm

I had to take DD to the doctor yesterday. She had a tick bite that was swollen and we were concerned about it. She also has a sinus infection. Cost me $25 for the doctor. I got my prescriptions filled while we were there. I had budgeted $75 for them but they are usually around $55. With her prescriptions it was $85. It could have been a lot worse.

I filled up the car yesterday and transferred the remaining $29 in my gas budget to my ally savings account. I probably shouldn't have done that because that leaves me with $5 until next Friday. But we shouldn't need anything.

Got my cell phone bill. It was over $500. I almost went into cardiac arrest. There was $137 in usage charges. Apparently when I changed the plan back to the 2100 minutes I didn't back date it. I called Verizon and they backdated it and credited me the overage charges. Thank Goodness. The rest of the overage charges belong to Ex DH. I wish I could get him off the plan but there would be a cancellation fee.

I hope to get one more NSD this month. Today should be a NSD.

Glad the cell phone bill got worked out. Do you know when you can take your ex off the plan? It would be good to know the date and let him know that is the plan from that point forward.

    Good luck with just $5.

I say I only have $5 left but that is really only if I spend $100 in gas next week. I usually have about $30 left in my gas budget so i think I am covered.

2100 minutes are about 35 hrs of telephone talk, that sounds adequate. A bill about $363. seems high, is there any possibility of bringing it down into the $100. range? Is EX amiable to paying for his overage?

You're doing an ace job of sticking with the challenge. I've learned from experience that different pharmacies have different prices for many drugs. Since you have repeat RX it might be worthwhile to check with Costco or discount suppliers for lower costs. How much does your pharmacy charge in professional fee and how much is for the actual medication?

I get my drugs at Costco. When I was uninsured they had a program where I filled out my name, etc...and I got a good discount. Did not have to have a low income or anything or even state it. Just to say I was uninsured. Now that I am insured again, I still use them. Thanks for reminding me to check our usage on Verizon. Being out of town tends to make me use more minutes. Hope your daughter is doing better!

Sounds like paying the cancellation fee to get your ex off the plan might be a sound investment. How much would it be?
