Renter's Update

July 31st, 2012 at 03:33 pm

The sheriff called me yesterday. He is trying to serve the renters with the eviction notice but they won't answer the door for him. He said that there was a truck in the driveway. He is going to keep trying but eventually will just have to tack and mail it.(post on the door and mail a copy to him).

I brought my lunch again to work plus some fresh fruit to snack on. I took some chicken out of the freezer for dinner tonight.

Today will not be a NSD as it is Tuesday and I always fill up on Tuesday and Friday. After I fill up I will know how much I overbudgeted for gas this week. It should be at least $25.

Glad the steps are undereway to get the deadbeat tenant out. Sounds like things are starting to turn around Smile

Nice of the sheriff to call and keep you updated. Sorry it is a little slow going, but it will come together. Smile And love it that you have a plan for dinner and lunch!!!

Why am I not surprised the deadbeat tenants didn't answer the door for the Sheriff? Can you tack/tape the notice on the door, take a photo and e-mail photo to Sheriff as proof of service? Can notice be served by Sheriff at employment?

Great going taking lunch and planning Chicken dinner. you've made a decision to change the pattern and it will certainly have positive effects long term. Change is always tough.

Do you use Gas Buddy the on-line current price listing? We're shocked at the price variations and make an effort to use the cheaper or coupon or discount days since we drive major distances. When the tank hovered at empty, we always seemed to have an urgent situation or were late leaving. That resulted in making it a point to always get gas on the way home rather than early AM when there is always a line-up.

snafu has a good point - always try to make your decisions, run your errands, etc at times when you are least rushed and your will power is the highest. When you get your habits set up, really try to keep away from the urgent as much as possible. Drama is the enemy of saving money.

Good luck with those tenants, a big source of drama.
