Budget Fine Tuning

August 2nd, 2010 at 05:29 pm

I just reworked my budget for the next few weeks. I gave myself more money each week for necessities and spending money. I hope it all works out like it is planned...

Taking a tip from Tar Walker and posting something positive about myself or my situation each day. Today's positive:

I am able to create and live within a budget for the benefit of myself and my family.

Good job! Sometimes we get so focused on trying to pay off the debt that we sacrifice too much and in your case that may be enough money for needs.

That is exactly what I am doing. I am trying to pay $100 to debt from each paycheck. That is in addition to whatever normal debt payments are due. I may be shooting to high. I just hate to reduce my payments.

It is all about finding balance, isn't it? Maybe consider putting $75 extra to debt and $25 in a mini-emergency fund. If anything it could help in those weeks where you might just need a gallon of milk, etc, to get you through until your next payday.

Keep up the positive attitude and things will work out great-you will see!

You will get there. Just don't sabotage yourself in the process!

That's a great positive! Thanks for joining me! :-)

I'm liking the challenge, even though it is only day two. I'm thinking about writing them down on post-its and sticking them on the bathroom mirror so I can't forget them.
