Trying to Resist

October 7th, 2009 at 10:44 pm

Like I said, I have become addicted to couponing. I have printed out my Food Lion list. But I am trying to resist. There is nothing on that list that I NEED. And the stuff that is on sale will be on sale again. But there are some good deals. I have the money to shop this week, but next payday will be really tight, so I should really save what I would spend. But I can't help it! I get this thought in my head and it won't go away until I do whatever it is. But I am trying to resist.

I would only get what you NEED. The money you have now could be put to better use later in the month. Good luck resisting. You CAN do it.

The stuff I NEED is almost never on sale when I need it Smile Good job holding off on unnecessary spending Smile

I am curious to know how the amount of money you spend for groceries/household now, compares to how you did pre coupon days.

Househopeful...that is the key to couponing...stockpiling the stuff when it is on sale.

Jolie...I didn't keep real good records before, but on average, I spent $400 a month on groceries. Last month, I got $966 worth of groceries/Household supplies for $628. The thing is that I have the stockpile pretty much under way, so the spending is slowing WAY down! I should really see the benefit in the next couple of months. It does cost more in the beginning to do it correctly.

And after spending the $400/month, I rarely felt like we had any food in the house. Now I feel like we have a greater variety of food and things we wouldn't have had otherwise.
