Tires Tires Everywhere!!!

December 27th, 2013 at 08:43 pm

My mom recently came into a large sum of money. She is giving each of the kids in the family a lump sum of that money. For me that means she is buying me new tires! She is also buying DS new tires. He is in desperate need. Last time I saw them, they looked smoother than a nascar tire!

EX DH has been saying for months that he would buy DS new tires, but it never happened. Now that Grandma has stepped up,he is suddenly willing to buy tires...with a catch. He is going to pay her back for 1/2 of the tires and wants me to pay the other 1/2. He didn't discuss this with me just assumed that is the way it would be. UGGHHHH!!! I hate it when other people try to tell me how to spend my money! I will probably pay my mom back just because it is the right thing to do and then DS can use his money for something else. It just irks me that Ex DH thinks I have all this money sitting around because he pays child support. (DS is almost 21 and I don't receive support for him anymore).

Okay...enough of a rant. Thanks for reading.

Nice that those of you who need tires are getting them! So don't get why your ex-H needs to have his hands in on a done deal. Weird.

Sounds like ex h likes bossing. Sorry about that. Good news on the other front with your mom.

Best wishes for the holidays. Hope you're recovering. Are you back at work? Congratulations to Grandmother for her windfall. She is very generous to share her money. EX h is free to give opinions/directions/orders but there is no reason to comply or follow his lead. DS will benefit from his dad's gift. It has nothing to do with child support

I've noticed in previous mentions of your Mom that she has had occasion be a life-saver to the family....May the New Year see you with greater stability and traction both on the road and on the road of life.
