    Way to go!

I haven't been to the grocery store yet in January thanks to my Costco run at the end of December ... so I'm hoping to have a really low grocery month too. Smile

Nice! Do you keep a tally as you go through the store so you know what your approximate total is?

@scfr, I've done that before with my cell phone calculator...added up my purchases as I go. Usually this is when I want to qualify for some purchase limit to get a discount, but it would be a great way to keep things in check along the way.

    Good job, NGG!

When we used to be tight with money I used to only bring the exact cash with me to the grocery store that way I could never go over. I had to make sure that I add things up as I go along to not go over and have to return stuff. After a while I got very good at it.

That is a nice "win" for the week, congrats! When you have the insurance of being on-budget in one area, it can lead to the rest of the budget falling into place... plus you have a few dollars to help in other areas if needed. Good job!
