Interesting Call from the Bank

October 10th, 2012 at 02:49 pm

I got a call from the bank that has my rental checking. It seems that I tried to do a internet transfer to pay my mortgage and there wasn't enough money in the account. I was stunned since I deposited enough money in there yesterday. After some investigation it was discovered that the deposit didn't post. The machine mis read the account number. So that has been fixed and the payment will be applied.

I finally opened the box of clothes that my sister sent me. There must have been at least 10 pairs of jeans/pants. And they all fit. They are two sizes smaller than the jeans I have. Saves me from having to buy more jeans. And most of them don't need to be hemmed either. SCORE!

Jeans that fit are the best confirmation that WW is working for you! I hope it's motivation to continue their program and enjoy the double benefits of eating meals prepared at home.

I suggest checking with both banks involved in the mortgage transfer transaction since banks/financial institutions are totally over the top in charging fees when ever there is a problem...even if the problem is from their short comings. The banks seem to take two business days to credit an account but debts are instant! I've noticed they do the same thing when you go to the bank, give the teller money, have it stamped on a passbook etc. If they've charged fees your figures will not balance with the bank and has potential to generate even more fees. You may need to talk to the decision maker politely but firm, to have any fees, charges, costs etc. rebated back to your a/c.

We tried to do an ACH debit to open a different account last week. It still hasn't posted. I need to see whether we've been "misread" too.

Congrats on the progress, as well as fitting into the new jeans! That can lead to a lot of headaches when there is a numerical error at the bank. That has happened to be in the past, as well. It's funny, computerization of accounts offers some insurance of faster service in some ways, but it also can get screwed up really easily, too! Glad they fixed it up for you...

We have a new item in - old item out home rule to keep out the clutter. With ten new jeans & slacks, would you be willing to release, re-gift, sell, consign, donate or trash a similar number of garments?
