Update on Tenants

I sent the tenants a text message to see if they had the rent money for me. She responded that they are currently selling everything they can to come up with the money. I responded telling her that if I don't have the rent by Monday was going to start eviction proceedings. I am hoping that will scare them into paying. I mean they had a whole month of not paying any mortgage because that community action group paid their rent last month. They should have plenty of money to pay this month's rent.

I am afraid that they are going to turn beligerent and act like it is my fault. She has been very apologetic in the past, but I think that my have ended. There is an issue with the dishwasher not working, but really is that enough to not pay rent? I don't think so.

    I had 3 rentals in Florida and all of my tenants put me off like that every month. I got so tired of it, I sold all three homes at a BIG loss.

    I think you have to prepare yourself for the worst. If they are selling everything they can to come up with the money it doesn't sound like they are going to be able to pay the next month's rent. To me, it sounds like it has always be a problem for them. This is NOT your fault....it is their's. Hope everything works out! Hugs!

    Good luck!! Keep an eye on the place...knowing you might start the eviction process, they might just vacate. It happens.
