I am a mom of 2 kids(15 and 11). I am re-married to a good guy who tends to be financially irresponsible. I read a blog where a spouse "divorced their finances". That is what I have had to do and things are going alot better now. My credit cards are over the limit and overdue. When I first started this blog, I managed to keep my power on by the skin of my teeth.

Since November, I have been able to pay the power bill each month before the possiblity of a disconnect. I am getting it closer and closer to that actual due date instead of the grace period.

2009 Goals:

No "Power Interruption" Notes left on the door!!!!
***12/08 - no notice!
***1/09 - no notice!

Get contacts!!!

Pay all Household Expenses by due dates.

Get Mortgage Caught up by end of February

Start making Regular Payments on Credit Cards:
Jan - all but one(check out my credit card page)

1st quarter - get all cc below limit; then pay off one cc per quarter

Establish a new car fund

Savings: 120/month
Kid #1 Savings: 20/month
Kid #2 Savings: 20/month

Another meal at home!!!

For the second day and night in a row, I have not spent any money on take out! This is a huge deal for me, as my previous posts suggest. I am so excited and proud of myself.

Oh....forgot to mention that I already have tomorrow night's dinner planned...grilled cheese and tomato soup. It has really helped me this week to plan the meals the night before and get everything out...then there are no last minute surprises...where I think I have everything I need and then realize I don't have it when I go to make it. Then I have to scramble to come up with something at the last minute!

Good for you! Tonight we had baked chicken, boiled potatoes, stuffing, corn and ice cream. The chicken didn't go over too well with the husband and my youngest is a vegetarian so...but my oldest daughter liked it and so did I! Needless to say, I will be feeding my aides tonight at work! I am truly happy you are saving your money!! And it does probably taste better...and more satisfying.
