Spendy Day

July 24th, 2011 at 02:33 am

Today has been a spendy day. It started off with a $118 payment to cheer. Then she needed blue shorts to wear to practice on Monday. The only blue shorts we could find(in a small town) were $21. Because it was so hot we stopped and got a drink and an ice cream at Wendy's. I don't have any ac in my car so by the time we made the thirty minute drive we were sweltering in 90 degree weather. And then just now we had to go get milk. Am looking forward to tomorrow so I don't have to spend any money!

Is she going to need other color shorts? If so, think how you could get those without being backed into last minute high prices. A box of dye costs about $3 at the grocery and can change a light color to a darker one--for instance light tan to green, red, or navy. Ebay orders would come right to your mailbox and I'd be surprised if you couldn't get any color you want in any size for $8 or less, postage included. For blue, I would have checked to see if there was a pair of jeans ready to be turned into shorts.

Its a shame they didn't give her more notice about what she'd need for first practice so that you could have found it at a better price. Frown

I know you live in blue ridge, but I am wondering what area? I lived in Blue Ridge for 12 years, then moved to Blairsville 15 years ago cause there was more building going on here.
We lived in the Dial section of fannin county, right on the Toccoa river. (end of aska road)

Why did she specifically need blue shorts if it is just practice? That could get very expensive if you eventually needed them in every color.

She probably needs them in blue because it is one of the school colors. Our cheerleaders all have to have red shorts because of that.

Ima...I live in downtown Blue Ridge. Before that we lived in Mineral Bluff.

Lucky Robin is right...blue is their school color.

Joan, she just joined the team as of Friday so I bet the other girls had more notice.
