Grocery Shopping

February 22nd, 2013 at 06:03 pm

We did something a little different today. We went to Dollar General first and got as much as we could there. We got a huge bottle of DD's shampoo and conditioner for way less than a small bottle at the grocery store. All said and done we spent $61 at Dollar General. We then went to Food Lion and bought the filler items. We spent another $46. So we spent a total of $107. I had budgeted $150 so I think that was a super win. Will do that more often.

We went to pizza hut for dinner. It really upset my stomach. That will teach me! But it tastes so good!

Glad that worked better than your budget. You are getting the hang of this stuff!

That restaurant uses MSG in their garlic bread. Maybe on their pizza, too, I can't remember. I haven't been able to eat there in years because it kills my stomach and gives me a migraine. It does taste good, but I learned my lesson eventually.

That is some good thinking... looking at the more frugal options first can definitely lead to some insurance of staying under budget! Sorry about the pizza wreaking havoc on your stomach. Do other pizza places make you queasy, as well?

Dollar General, sounds like it has good prices. I've never been to one, I don"t think there are any close to where I live. Are high gas prices killing your budget? In my area, gas is $ 3.83 to $3.87 a gallon. People have not been talking about it , as much as before. {Maybe, have just gotten to accepting it, as we don"t have much choice." } I have a car that is pretty gd. on gas. Take care...
