This is the amount in my checking account until Friday when I get paid. Cutting it pretty close, not as close as last time when I had 80-something cents.

I made an executive decision and took myself and my coworker out to lunch today on the company. We were out looking at offices because we need a larger space. Chick-Fil-A. Yum.

Told the renters that if they don't have the rent on Friday I am going to have to start eviction proceedings. I hate to do that at Christmas but I am not going to let them get as far behind as the last renters. I understand that his business is slow this time of year but I had to borrow money to make the mortgage payment. I need to pay that back. Sure hope I am not being screwed again.

I know it is hard dealing with people like this, but some people seem to feel they have a vested right to your resources. You have to protect yourself.

Being a landlord is a very tough thing to do. I know, I tried it for 2 years, then I gave up.

Are there professional management companies in your area that could handle the landlord responsiblities for a fee? It might be worth checking into if this renter doesn't work out.

I am sure it is a hard thing to do, especially at the holidays but other people's finances are not your problem. You should not have to borrow money to pay the mortgage. Sending good thoughts your way!

That is really hard for you about the renters. did they give you a security deposit? It must be toughto deal with these people. Stay strong though, & tell them that you need your money. I would stress that you have bill,& obligatiions also. Why would they even move in if they can't cover the rent so soon? didn;t they just recently move in? Good luck with this. What a pain , esp., at this time of year. Hope it gets resolved quickly.

So sorry to hear your new tenants are getting behind on their rent already! They are trying to take advantage of your niceness. Frown

Ouch. I hope the tenants pay up soon. That's rough. Been there done that and I'll probably never be a landlady again.
