Resisted Temptation

September 16th, 2011 at 05:44 pm

I need a new phone. No...rather I want a new phone. My phone is slow and takes forever to send text messages. But it is still a workable phone. I was due for an upgrade but I gave that to my daughter so she got a new phone. Her phone had completely stopped working. I found the phone I want on ebay for $89. I was real close to ordering the phone. But I closed ebay to think about it for a while and now the urge has passed. I will stick with my old phone for a while longer.

I haven't heard from the renters regarding the letter I sent. I don't know if they have received it yet or not. I have a funny feeling that they have moved out. I don't know why, but that is what I am thinking. Don't know where they would go, as she has told me she has no where else to go. Thinking about sending them a text message asking if they are still living in the house. It just kills me that they haven't been in contact with me. When my first DH and I were first married, we were late on our rent alot. But I always stayed in contact with the landlord. Guess maybe I am getting my payback.

Had my review last week(well, it really isn't a reveiw, it is a coaching session). One of my areas for improvement is my personal health. I am more than a little overweight and while I can blame some of that on my thyroid, my eating habits and lack of exercise probably play a pretty big part as well. My weight is a huge issue for me. Tomorrow morning, the moving company is coming to move the treadmill into my bedroom. that way I will be able to watch tv while I am walking. It should make it easier for me to want to do it. I am also supposed to be drinking more water instead of dr pepper. Hopefully doing these things will help me start to lose weight.

Did you send the letter certified? Costs a little extra but then you have proof you mailed it, and they received it. Otherwise they can claim they never got it.

Good luck to you on the weight loss.

If convenient, I'd do a drive by just to see. Good luck on the weight loss. Things that helped me were:

Food diary - write down what you eat and drink.
    Avoid processed and junk food
Drinks - only water, unsweetened iced tea, 1 drip coffee with a splash of cream.
    Get more sleep
Use exercise to reduce stress. And perhaps the tenants moving out will help.
No white at night - no potatoes, pasta, rice, etc for dinner. Meat and salad is a pretty good dinner
Finish eating at xpm, about 2 hours before going to bed.
Avoid candy dish/cake/donut at work - pace yourself and say "I'll be there later".
Think of ways to not use food as a reward. I still find and track the coins and money I pick up. I use it as my reward for walking x amt rather than have, say, a muffin at Starbucks.
And remember if you don't lose weight, but you lose inches ... inches are what people see. Nobody sees the number on the scale.
    Good luck!

North Georgia, Hi, Do you have any neighbors @ your rental house, that you could call to ask if the tenants are still there? I was thinking in my last comment to you, that those tenants might have been planning on sneaking out. I would definitely want to know. Good luck w/this. How annoying that you always have to chase them . Mostly for the fact that they will not answer you, makes me think that they might have left, or are leaving. Hope you get some answers, & money from them....

I too would also drive by and even get out and knock on the door. You have a key right? If no one answers, you can go into your own home.

Best wishes on losing some weight. There are some great free support sites out there...myfitnesspal.com and sparkpeople.com are couple.

I'm having weight loss success with a free site called myfitnesspal.com. It counts the calories for you because it has a database of items. So just type in "Dannon blueberry yogurt" and boom - all the nutritional info is populated in your food diary.

There are also new pictures of folks every day in the 'success stories' section if that motivates you. Good luck!

Good luck with your goals... I hope they lead to success for you. I think that having the insurance of a neighbor checking in to see if the renters are there is a great idea. Could be worth a try if you are too far away to check in yourself.
