Cell Phone Bill Update

August 10th, 2011 at 08:47 pm

You guys got me thinking. So I looked at AT&T to see what plans they offer. Their prepaid phones would be $50 per month per phone for voice and unlimited texting. That is $150/month. However, if I go with a plan, I can get three lines with unlimited texting and calling to any other mobile phone, regardless of the carrier. This would be about $130/month after the fees and everything is added. How can they be that much cheaper? I just don't understand it. But DS contract is up on the 24th of this month so we will wait until then to change. The cancellation fee for the other two lines will be $200. Then if XDH wants to keep his line, he will have to go in and assume responsibility for it, which I don't think he can do because of his credit. Those contracts are up in December.

It is absolutely worth the $200 cancellation fee! You'll make it back in less that two months!!

I'm glad you were able to find something so well priced.

Awesome! My brother just found out about the unlimited mobile to any mobile plan with AT&T - he's over the moon about it. (He thought he was going to have to up his minutes due to a new girl in his life not on AT&T.)

Good for you for looking into other alternatives. I know it's hard when you think you can't penny pinch anymore then someone else points out alternatives. Good luck in finding something cheaper for your family. Smile

I think that will really lead to some good savings, and as was mentioned above -- even if there is a fee you will come out ahead! Finding the best options for yourself to save money is the best insurance for making progress financially, and you are wise to think like that! Good job...
