Day 2 of No Eating Out

June 22nd, 2011 at 02:42 pm

Day 1 went well. I purchased to $1.00 sodas from Mcdonald's. And even though I was starving by the time I left work, I didn't get anything else. I went home and cooked dinner. It was the first time in a long time that I have actually cooked dinner. It was good and we have left overs for tonight(unless the teenage boys find it). Day 2 has started well. If I can resist breakfast out than I am usually pretty good. Breakfast is my weakest moment.

Renters gave me $298 last night. I put $203 of it toward the power bill and the rest to my son. They still owe $302 for June rent. This is owed to my son because he gave me the money to pay the mortgage. Hopefully they will get caught up real soon.

Great job!! One day at a time, right?

I hope the renters can get their situation figured out soon. It's almost July!

Good job! It does get easier once you get into the habit of cooking dinners. During the school year when I work, I cook stuff ahead on the weekend so if I'm tired when I get home, I can just pop something in the oven to bake or heat it up on top of the stove.

Hope those renters get their act together.

Eating out is a habit, and a habit can be broken. You can expect to have urges for 20-30 days, but after that, eating in will be a new habit!

I smile when I think of your urge for Cinni-Minis from BK. I've never had those, but I sure do understand cravings. Hope you are finding good strategies to resist. You can do this!

Dav...I beat that craving. It wasn't easy but I haven't thought about it in a couple of months. Now I wonder why I was so addicted to them!

You are doing well. Maybe you should keep a granola bar or something similar in your purse for those starving after work moments?
